How does dictation transcription work?
Upload your dictation or audio files and optional template documents. A professional typist downloads your files, transcribes them using their preferred tools, and uploads the finished Word document. You get notified when it's ready to download.
Can I use my own typist?
Yes! You can invite your own trusted transcriptionist to use the platform. They'll be able to access your jobs, download audio files, and upload completed transcripts. If your regular typist is unavailable, our Amanuscribe typists can step in.
How long does transcription take?
Turnaround time depends on audio length and complexity. Standard jobs are typically completed within 24-48 hours. You'll receive an email notification when your transcript is ready.
What audio formats do you support?
We support all common audio formats including MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, and WMA. If you have a format that isn't working, please contact us.
Can I upload template documents?
Yes! Upload your Word templates (.docx) alongside your audio files. Your typist receives them to ensure consistent formatting in the final transcript.
How secure is my data?
Your files are encrypted during upload and storage. We use AWS infrastructure with industry-standard security practices. Files can be deleted from your account at any time.
How long do you keep my files?
Audio and template files are retained for 90 days after job completion, then automatically deleted. Your completed transcripts (final documents) are retained indefinitely and always available for download. Cancelled jobs have their audio and template files deleted immediately.
How do I pay?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe. You're charged based on the audio duration when you create a job. Free users pay €1.35/min; Standard subscribers pay €1.00/min.
What's the difference between Free and Standard?
Free users pay €1.35 per audio minute with no monthly commitment. Standard subscribers pay €10/month plus €1.00/min (26% savings). If you transcribe more than about 30 minutes monthly, the subscription saves money. Annual billing gives you 2 months free.
Do you offer medical and legal transcription?
Yes. Amanuscribe supports medical dictation transcription, legal transcription, academic transcription, and general audio transcription. Our skilled typists handle all types of professional dictation. You can also upload your own formatting templates to ensure consistent document styling.
